It isn't just Jamie Vardy havin' a party.

Euro 2016 is just around the corner and as always, expectations are high enough that the ultimate capitulation of the Three Lions will leave us all in need of some high quality beverages to take the edge off the inevitable crushing disappointment. Maybe I'm being negative to help balance out the growing media hysteria surrounding Woy's Wovers - you have to admit the "dream" partnership of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane has potential to upset a few defences this summer - but I'm still sceptical about our chances.

One thing that will keep me optimistic regardless of any dodgy results is the next tasting evening at the shop. Conveniently taking place just after the group stage on 23rd June, we're having our own European competition and will be pitching ten different brewing nations against each other in a winner-takes-all battle. We've picked out a selection of our favourite beers from the most impressive brewers on the continent, countries such as Croatia and Hungary will be up against the big boys like Germany and Belgium, but only you can decide who will be crowned BottleCraft European Champion 2016. Get your tickets in store and get involved in another brilliant night.

If you've never been to one of our events, we'll give you the brief run-down.

Kick off is 7pm, the first half of action should suitably whet your appetite with five beer samples, history of the style, brewer and tasting description, each carefully researched by myself. Half time brings an energy top up in the form of home-made, lovingly prepared food (although we had considered orange slices for this one!) The second half only gets bigger and better as we continue with five more beers, again with full info about style and history. At full time, we'll ask you to decide which your favourite beer of the night was and then you'll get to take a bottle of it home with you. Not bad for £20.
