New beers episode #8

Happy weekend everybody! Sorry I'm a bit late writing this. I was forced to go to Birmingham Beer Bash yesterday, very much against my will, in order to try out beers for your potential benefit in the future. If you've not been before, I'd highly recommend it - some of the country's best brewers, plus a range of cans, bottles and kegs from round the world, all in a beautiful waterside setting. And amazing food to boot. Anyway, here's this week's list. NEW = brand new BACK = returning after it's been away for a bit NEW Alaskan - Smoked Porter - 6.5% Beavertown - Black Betty - 7.4% Beavertown - Gamma Ray - 5.4% Beavertown - Neck Oil - 4.3% BACK Beavertown - Quelle - 4.2% BACK Blackjack - Ace O

New beers episode #7

Afternoon Folks! We've had some beauties in this week. The full list is below, but there are some highlights I'd love to point out. Firstly, we've managed to get our hands on some more To Ol Dangerously Close To Stupid. We think it's one of the best DIPAs we've ever tasted, and it weighs in at a beasty 9.3%. Next, we've got some really special stuff from Thornbridge. We've got two award-winning sours from Bakewell's finest brewers, Days Of Creation and Love Among The Ruins, plus their acclaimed collaboration with Brooklyn - Serpent. They describe it as a Belgian inspired golden ale made with wild cider yeast, and aged for over a year. Certainly not something we've heard of before. Lastly, Ha

New beers episode #6

[EDITED 9/7/16 TO ADD EVEN MORE BEERS!] Hello there! Here's episode six in a growing series of somewhat tedious lists of things we've had in this week. Tedious, but full of beery awesomeness, and worth two minutes of your time: Beavertown - Bloody 'Ell - 7.2% Beavertown - Gamma Ray - 5.4% NEW Bosteels - Tripel Karmeliet - 8.4% NEW Brew Foundation - Hop & Glory - 4.9% NEW Brew Foundation - Hops & Dreams - 4% NEW Brew Foundation - Little Bitter That - 3.8% NEW Brew Foundation - First Light - 4.6% NEW Chorlton - Amarillo Sour - 5.4% NEW Chorlton - Citra Sour - 5.1% Cloudwater/Magic Rock - Three's Company - 8.3% Cloudwater - White IPA Mosaic E.431 - 6.5% Cloudwater - Keyworth's Early Lager - 4.8

Cloudwater DIPA v4 and v5

So they've finally arrived! The fourth and fifth iterations of Cloudwater's hugely popular series of double IPAs, jam-packed with hops for maximum flavour. Unlike version 3, v4 and v5 are what you might call a test run in order to gather feedback from customers, before v6 arrives later in the year. Cloudwater actually recommend buying them in pairs, trying some of each, then blending the two together to decide which you prefer (there's a feedback form you can complete here). With this in mind, stocks across the country are much lower than v3, and we've been trying to think of a fair way to ensure as many people as possible get to try them. We've decided that a lottery is the best way to do t

New beers #5

I can't believe it's July already! How time flies when you're drinking beer. It promises to be an interesting month in the world of craft, with Cloudwater's DIPA v4 and v5 being launched of particular interest after the success of v3. We're not too sure when we're getting stock yet, but will let you know as soon as we do. On to sad news (for me anyway), but we've come to that terrible time of year when the blood oranges that Beavertown use in Bloody 'Ell go out of season, and so it's almost time to say goodbye until 2017. We've got a little bit more due in next week, and may have something special to make up for it in a few weeks too (my lips are sealed, but I accept bribes in the form of ca
